Parklands boss vows to appeal care home planning decision

The Managing Director of Parklands Care Homes has vowed to appeal a decision by The Highland Council to reject its plan for a 40 bed care home in Fortrose. Ron Taylor says that elderly people in Fortrose and Rosemarkie have been let down by local councillors after they voted to reject the planned £3.5 million care facility.

Fair care for all pledge as Fortrose plans win strong support

There was a strong show of support for Parklands' planned £3.5 million care home in Fortrose yesterday (14 october). More than 80 people attended a public exhibition in the town and the overwhelming majority voiced support for the proposal. During the event, Parklands MD Ron Taylor pledged to offer fair care for all with a 50/50 split between private and NHS funded residents.

Parklands Group named Moray Business of the Year

Buckie based Parklands Group has won a prestigious Highland Business Award. The independent care home company was named Moray Business of the Year at a ceremony in Inverness, organised by Inverness Chamber of Commerce. The accolade comes at the end of a busy month for the company. Last week it submitted plans for a £3.5 million care home in Grantown, its largest ever investment. The 40 bed facility will be the first purpose built care home in the town for decades.

New £5m care homes open their doors

Two new care homes, built as part of a £5 million investment, have been officially opened in Tain and Muir of Ord. Innis Mhor in Tain and Urray House in Muir of Ord are new, state of the art care homes, purpose built for Parklands Group, one of the largest independent care home providers in the north of Scotland. They were officially opened by Janet Bowen, Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for Ross and Cromarty. Built overlooking the Dornoch Firth, Innis Mhor offers 34 rooms and employs 58 people. Urray House also offers 34 rooms and supports 45 jobs.
