Dear Family and Friends,
Non Essential Visits to our Care homes
With a heavy heart, as a response to the threat of COVID -19, we have decided to suspend all non- essential visits to our homes with immediate effect.
Much has changed over the last few days so we need to ensure that the health of our residents remain our top priority.
We have been in regular contact with the NHS, Public Health Scotland and the local Environmental Health Departments who are in complete agreement with our decision.
What does this mean?
We are moving to “lock down” all of our homes and, for now, all non-essential visits will be prohibited. As you will appreciate, we are continuing with robust infection control practices and we have strict protocols in place to limit risks of cross infection. We are also monitoring the health and well-being of our staff.
To maintain contact with your family and friends, we are encouraging increased use of SKYPE and Social media and Video Calls. We will be in touch shortly to let you know how to arrange a video call.
We also recognise that some residents are in a palliative and end stage of life or may enter this. In such circumstances, it is important that family and close friends are able to be with their loved ones. We will therefore adopt appropriate screening methods and undertake risk assessments to enable this to take place. Please contact your Manager who will advise accordingly.
Please be assured that these preventive methods will help keep your loved ones safe. We will continue to keep you informed of any updates. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact me directly on tel: 01479 788000 or email ron.taylor@parklandsgroup.com
