If you thought 2019 was a busy year for Parklands, just wait until you see what we have in store in 2020.
Recruitment will be a big focus for Parklands this year. With a new £5.5 million care home in Fortrose nearing completion and work on our £7.5 million Inverness care hub – comprising a 61 bed care home and playgroup for local children – due to get underway this year, Parklands will need to recruit around 200 new staff covering a diverse range of roles – from cooks to cleaners to care home managers.
Our community pharmacy in Aberlour will also relocate into a larger purpose built facility, creating new retail and pharmacy roles.
And after more than 25 years in Buckie, Parklands’ corporate function is moving to Grantown, following a significant investment by the company. It wasn’t an easy decision, but as the Parklands team has grown – and continues to expand – it became increasingly clear that we needed a new central base for our administrative, finance and management team. Our new office in Grantown provides that capacity and will help us create new employment opportunities across the group.
I feel immensely privileged to lead such a talented, dedicated and professional team at Parklands. I never tire of saying that they are the reason for our success. The New Year is the perfect time for a fresh start and I would encourage anyone looking for a new career to consider one in the care sector. The work can be challenging but also hugely rewarding and there are tremendous opportunities to gain new skills and confidence, and advance into more senior roles. Many of our care home managers have been with us for 10 years or more.
In the coming weeks, we'll be launching a major recruitment drive highlighting the type of roles available at Parklands and what to expect from a career in the care sector. We'll post more information online soon.
Parklands is proud of its investment in Moray and the Highlands, not just in new care and community facilities, but in the people who have contributed to Parklands’ success over the past two decades. For good reason, our company motto is ‘Our family caring for yours.’ I look forward to welcoming many new faces to the Parklands family this year.
