Residents recall Moon landing memories

"When they landed, it was marvellous"

20 July 2019

Residents from two Moray care homes have been remembering the moment mankind landed on the moon.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing in July 1969, Glenisla Care Home in Keith and Netherha in Buckie commissioned a video in which residents recall their hopes and fears about the historic mission.

The video has been widely viewed on Facebook and Twitter and shared by MFR/Northsound Radio.

The video forms part of a reminisience project commissioned by Glenisla Care Home and was filmed by Duncan Rennie, whose father is a resident in the care home. The amateur photographer has been recording the lives of residents through imagery, capturing the places and memories that mattered most to them during their lives.
