Eclipse Taekwondo is kicking off an exciting summer with action-packed training sessions for local kids during the school holidays.
The Buckie based community non-profit club, which offers twice-weekly classes for 5-17 year olds, has introduced new training equipment this summer thanks to a donation from local care group Parklands.
With funding from the Parklands Pathway Fund, Eclipse Taekwondo has been able to purchase foam plyometric jump boxes and kick pads to enhance students' fitness and performance, while keeping costs down.
Club founder Cara Coull said: “We were all very grateful at Eclipse when we found out we had been successful in receiving funding from the Parklands Pathway Fund. I had been wanting to purchase a set of plyometric boxes for the club as they are great for building strength, plus the children find them fun. They were all delighted when they arrived and they got to use them.”
The Parklands Pathway Fund was set up by Parklands Care Homes to support community projects that create a lasting legacy. Eligible projects include those involving older people, education, sport and wellbeing, young people and sustainability.
Ron Taylor, Managing Director of Parklands Care Homes, said: “Supporting local community groups like Eclipse Taekwondo is at the heart of what the Parklands Pathway Fund is all about. We’re thrilled to see the kids get excited about their new training equipment and watch them develop their skills this summer.”
Eclipse Taekwondo meets at Buckie High School through the holidays on Mondays from 10am - 11am & Tuesdays from 5pm - 6pm (except 29th & 30th July). For more information contact eclipsebuckietkd@gmail.com
