Parklands completes sale of Mo Dhachaidh care home

4 January 2024

Parklands Care Homes has completed the sale of its former care home in Ullapool in a deal which secures the building for community use and safeguards local health care facilities.

Mo Dhachaidh care home, which closed in March, has been sold to Highland Hospice.

Ron Taylor, managing director of Parklands Care Homes, said: “The closure of Mo Dhachaidh continues to be a matter of deep personal regret and I know its loss is still felt in the local community.

“I was clear at the time of its closure that I wanted Mo Dhachaidh to be retained for community use and I am pleased that we have been able to achieve this outcome. I can confirm that we have agreed a sale of the building to Highland Hospice, a much-cherished Highland charity, who will lease the building to NHS Highland to secure the future of the local health centre.

“I hope this news will be some consolation to the local community as it provides security for much needed health facilities in the village. I wish Highland Hospice every success as the new owners.”
