Parklands Care Homes has won the Highland Business Award for Corporate Community Impact, recognising its long-standing commitment to building stronger, better-connected communities across the north.
Judges praised Parklands’ multi-generational links and highlighted the Parklands Pathway Fund, which has supported around 15 grassroots projects in sport, education, wellbeing, sustainability and social inclusion across the Highlands and Moray, an investment judges said would make a difference for years to come.
Parklands was also recognised for its wider community role – from supporting local schools, families and charities, to partnerships with Mikeysline and Highland Hospice, and its ongoing backing for diversity and inclusion through events such as Parklands Pride.
The award was presented at the Highland Business Awards in Inverness, one of the flagship events of Inverness Chamber of Commerce, attended by over 250 guests from business, politics and civic life.
Accepting the award on behalf of Parklands, Alexis Le Neven, Manager of Eilean Dubh care home, said: “This award means so much for Parklands. Our residents have spent their lives supporting their communities, so it’s vital we keep those links strong. Thank you to all our teams, and especially our wellbeing coordinators, for their amazingly creative and innovative ideas.”
Emily Christie, a 20-year-old carer at Wakefield House in Cullen, was shortlisted for Young Employee of the Year. Although unsuccessful, she is already regarded as a rising star within Parklands.
