Finding the right care
Everyone’s care needs are different. Our homes provide a range of residential, nursing, dementia, respite and palliative care, with our teams working with residents and families to provide the right care and support.
Understanding your care needs
Before moving into a care home, a care needs assessment will help determine the type and level of care you need. This considers your individual needs and whether residential or nursing care is most appropriate.
Our team will work with you, your family and the professionals involved in your care to make sure we can provide the right support.
Residential care
Residential care provides 24-hour support for people who may find some aspects of everyday life more difficult but do not require regular nursing care.
Our care teams can provide as much or as little support as each resident needs, including help with washing, dressing, mobility, medication and other aspects of daily living. Care is tailored to the individual, with a focus on helping residents maintain their independence, make their own choices and continue doing the things they enjoy.
Nursing care
Nursing care provides the same personal support as residential care, alongside clinical care for people with more complex or ongoing health and medical needs.
Our fully qualified Parklands nurses provide 24-hour nursing support, including medication management, monitoring health conditions and providing nursing interventions where required. They work closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals to ensure each resident receives the right care and support.
Nursing care is available to residents who have been professionally assessed as requiring nursing care.
Dementia care
Personalised care for people living with dementia, shaped around their individual needs, routines and life experiences. Our teams take time to get to know each resident, helping them feel safe, comfortable and supported while maintaining as much independence as possible.
Respite care
Short-term care to support recovery after illness or hospital treatment, or to give families and carers a planned break. Residents receiving respite care are supported in the same way as long-term residents and are fully included in daily life and activities.
Palliative care
Compassionate care for people approaching the end of life, focused on comfort, dignity and individual wishes. We work closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals, while also providing sensitive support for families and those closest to the resident.
Funding your care
Care home funding can be complex and everyone’s circumstances are different. The main routes are:
Self-funding: Where you or your family pay your care home fees directly.
Local authority funding: If you have been assessed as needing care in a care home, your local authority will carry out a financial assessment. This looks at your income, savings and other assets and determines how much you will be expected to contribute towards your care home fees.

Care home fees
Our weekly fees for self-funding residents start from £2,121 for residential care in Moray and £2,299 in the Highlands. Nursing care starts from £2,290 per week in Moray and £2,476 in the Highlands.
Fees vary depending on the location of the care home, the type of accommodation chosen and the individual resident’s care needs.

Inspections and quality assurance
Every Parklands care home is regularly inspected by the Care Inspectorate, Scotland’s independent regulator for care services. Inspection reports are available at each home and on the Care Inspectorate website.
Alongside external inspections, our Quality Management System helps us continually monitor and improve the care we provide, informed by regular audits and feedback from residents, families and colleagues.

We are committed to providing high standards of care and service. If something falls short, we want to know. We take concerns seriously and work with residents and families to resolve them promptly, fairly and thoroughly.
