Pittyvaich Care Home celebrates first anniversary

Pittyvaich Care Home has celebrated its first anniversary with a special party for residents, families and staff.

The 58-bed care home opened in Inverness in June 2025 as part of an £11 million investment by Parklands Care Homes.

The anniversary comes just weeks after Pittyvaich received a positive first inspection from the Care Inspectorate. Following an unannounced visit, inspectors awarded the home 'very good' grades for leadership and its setting, praising a team that worked well together and delivered kind, respectful care. Residents and families also spoke positively about the care they receive and the welcoming atmosphere within the home.

Manager Jackie Macrae said the home was now looking ahead to its second year, with a focus on creating even more opportunities for residents to enjoy life at Pittyvaich.

She said: "I'm incredibly proud of what the team has achieved over the past year. Starting a new care home takes time, but we've built great relationships with our residents and their families, and that's what makes Pittyvaich feel like home.

"The first year was about helping everyone settle in and building a strong team. This year is about delivering person centred outcomes, making Pittyvaich come alive and creating lots of opportunities for residents and their families to enjoy themselves through parties, events and activities. We want to become a real part of the local community, and we're looking forward to welcoming people to many more events, including our upcoming Parklands Pride celebration."

Pittyvaich is one of 13 care homes operated by Parklands Care Homes across the Highlands, Moray and Aberdeenshire.

Next month, Pittyvaich will host a Pride celebration for residents, families and friends on Saturday 11 July, from 2pm to 4pm, featuring live music from Inverness performer and Pride favourite Anthony Collesso, and trad band Tuath.
