‘Very good’ rating for Weston View’s care planning in latest inspection

Weston View care home in Keith has been awarded a grade 5 (very good) rating for how well care and support are planned in its latest Care Inspectorate inspection, with grade four (good) ratings across all other areas.

Inspectors found kind, warm interactions, a welcoming atmosphere and staff who knew residents’ needs well. They noted an improvement culture, effective quality assurance, and highly individualised, respectful personal plans, supported by regular clinical oversight and robust induction and training.

Residents and families shared positive feedback about life at Weston View. One resident told inspectors, 'This is a lovely place. I could not wish for better,' while another commented, 'The food is wholesome.' A family member described Weston View as 'a first-class care home,' praising staff as 'excellent, efficient and communicative,' and noting they shared information in a 'professional manner.'

Inspectors also highlighted opportunities to further enhance residents’ daily experience, including increasing meaningful activities and making greater use of communal and outdoor spaces. Work is already underway in these areas.

Manager Leahanne Hendry thanked the team for their commitment to providing safe, compassionate and person-centred care: “This report reflects the hard work of our staff and the strong relationships they build with residents and families. We will continue to build on this progress and keep improving the experience for everyone who calls Weston View home.”

The Care Inspectorate evaluates care services using a six-point scale, ranging from 1 (unsatisfactory) to 6 (excellent).
