Parklands prides itself on serving small largely rural communities, from where it draws the majority of its staff. Our care homes are rooted in the community; we welcome local nurseries, schools, churches and community groups into our care homes, we support local charities and sports groups, and we actively use local suppliers.
Our continuing investment supports the local construction sector and the wider supply chain.
Parklands is a proud member of Inverness Chamber of Commerce and Moray Chamber of Commerce. In 2024, Parklands won the prestigious Highland Business Award for Community Engagement by a Business.
To strengthen our long-term community impact, Parklands has launched two-year charity partnerships with Mikeysline and Highland Hospice. These partnerships, chosen by our employees, will focus our fundraising efforts and give staff, residents, and their families opportunities to support vital causes through volunteering, mentoring, and awareness campaigns.
• Mikeysline supports mental health and suicide prevention across the north and north east, working to break down stigma and promote emotional wellbeing through outreach, support services, and its ‘Bee the Change’ campaign.
• Highland Hospice provides specialist palliative care and end-of-life support to patients and families across the Highlands, ensuring compassionate care when it matters most.
Beyond our charity partnerships, Parklands has a long history of investing in local initiatives. To mark our 30th anniversary, we launched the Parklands Pathway Fund, supporting grassroots community projects. During 2024, we supported 14 community projects and sponsored many more local groups. We are not considering fresh funding applications at this time, but continue to support good causes in a variety of other ways.
From fundraising events in our care homes to volunteering opportunities, we encourage our employees, residents, and families to take part in our community initiatives. Whether it’s taking on a sponsored challenge, hosting a community fundraising event, or lending a helping hand, our homes are at the heart of local life.
