Moray MSP visits Weston View Care Home

16 September 2026

Moray MSP Laura Mitchell has visited Weston View Care Home in Keith to meet residents and staff and find out more about the care and support provided there.

The newly elected MSP was welcomed by manager Leanne Stephen, who gave her a tour of the 40-resident home, which became part of the Parklands Care Homes group in 2023.

During the visit, Laura met residents and members of the care team and heard about life at Weston View, including the activities residents enjoy and the home's links with the local community.

Her visit coincided with a performance by local band Bees Knees, who were entertaining residents with an afternoon of live music. Laura also joined residents for a dance during the performance. Earlier, the care home hosted an outdoor playgroup for local families, organised by Moray charity Earthtime.

Leanne Stephen, manager of Weston View Care Home, said: "It was a pleasure to welcome Laura to Weston View and introduce her to our residents and staff.

"She took the time to speak to people and find out more about life at the home, and it was good to have the opportunity to show her some of the activities our residents enjoy and the links we have with our local community.

"We're very much part of the Keith community and it's important to us that residents continue to feel connected to the people and organisations around them."

Laura Mitchell MSP said: “It was so lovely to be at Weston View and to meet some of the residents and staff

“The staff have built a real community for the residents, and where was a real buzz during my visit, with activities organised to ensure residents are active, happy, and fulfilled.

“It was very clear the staff care deeply about the people they look after and I was very impressed by the way the care home operates, putting the wellbeing of residents at the heart of all they do.”

Weston View hosts the Waddle Toddle outdoor playgroup for local families every Monday from 10am to 10.45am. Visit earthtime.co.uk for details.
